One Piece of Kibble at a Time

Every day I get an email reminding me to click and answer a trivia question.

Some days I ignore it.

Others I make a short lived mental note to click later.

Today I remembered and visited freekibble.com

http://bit.ly/freekibble donates 10 pieces of kibble to shelters for every trivia question answered.

10 pieces doesn't sound like much. Jackson eats 3 cups of food a day. But here are the stats on their site today:

304,006,330 pieces of kibble since 04/01/08

That's 2,812,455 meals for animals that are in desperate need of a home.

Jackson was rescued by a woman named Leslie Moniot. Not a non-profit group, just one woman trying to make a difference. She was unable to place him and sent him to a rescue as a last resort.

The rescue receives a sizable donation of food from Natural Balance but still struggles to care for their dogs.

Shelters and rescues alike need all the help they can get every day, not just when it's convenient or money is plentiful.

I'm going to make an effort to click more often. 15 seconds a day is a bargain for 10 pieces of kibble!

Customer Service for Pups

A few months ago my cousin Vanessa (vet in training) recommended the Gentle Leader head collar by Premier Products LLC.

Being 4' 9", it was difficult to walk my 70 lb. dog. He was a decent walker from the get go. Never stops to pee or poop and only sniffs around if there's someone nearby.

However, he is dog and cat aggressive. My biggest fear was that he would get into a fight or take off in chase of an animal. I'd have no way of stopping him. He's just too strong.

I went to Petco to look for this head collar thing and found 2 brands. While the other brand was a few dollars less, I trusted Vanessa and shelled out the $24.99 for the Gentle Leader.

Then came the day my dog ate his accessories!

We had company and Jackson had to be leashed. 1st he ate his head collar, then his "good" leash.

I replaced them but thought I'd view the instructional CD that comes with the Gentle Leader.

At the end there's a message that they have a discounted replacement program for dogs who chew through their collars.

Wait, what?

Yup, I emailed them and for a fraction of the cost of a new collar they mailed me a brand new replacement.

Let's face it. Most companies only care about one sale to many people. Sure they say they care, but when they truly stand behind their products and understand the needs of their customers they deserve recognition and the loyalty of consumers.

If you are having trouble walking your dog, please visit their web site and learn more about their harnesses and other products.
